Who I am

My name is Kara Kirby, and I am a fourth-year Interior Design student at Louisiana State University, pursuing a BID with a minor in Business Administration and graduating in May 2027.

I am drawn to interior design because it changes how people feel in a space, usually without them noticing why. Proportion, color, and light can turn a room from something you pass through into somewhere you want to stay.

I design traditional interiors with maximalist detailing, color, and pattern, and I'm drawn to spaces that reward a second look. Across studio work I've taken projects from programming through full construction documentation in Revit, and my portfolio spans hospitality, residential, healthcare, educational, and workplace design.

I'm currently seeking an internship in residential or hospitality interior design.
